Abstract
Working capital is a company's capital investment in current assets that must always be there to finance the company's day-to-day operations. Thus, the use of working capital must consider its impact on profits. The formulation of this research problem is "Is There an Effect of Net Working Capital on Net Profits?". The purpose of this study was to determine whether net working capital has a significant effect on net income at the Medan Financial Services Authority. The hypothesis proposed is "There is an effect of net working capital on net income at the Medan Financial Services Authority". The population in this study was 6 years with company financial statement data from 2013-2018, while the sample used in this study was purposive sampling so that the sample was all the population used in this study. Data collection was carried out by means of library research and field research. To test the hypothesis using descriptive data and simple linear regression analysis. As for the results of the research that has been done, the following conclusions are obtained: the results of simple linear regression analysis with the equation of the effect of net working capital on net income are Y = 7.095E11 + 0, 187 X + e. Net working capital has an effect on net income, seen from tcount> ttable, namely (0.757> 2.13185). The coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.125 or 12.5%, which means that 12.5% of the change in net income is the contribution of net working capital, while the remaining 87.5% is the contribution of other factors not included in this study. . R is 0.354 or 34.5%, which means that the relationship between the net working capital variable and the net income variable is low. Based on the conclusions put forward, the company should minimize net working capital which will later affect the company's profits.
