ANALISA PEMAKAIAN PEMANAS UDARA TERHADAP PENINGKATAN EFISIENSI BOILER PADA PLTU UNIT BELAWAN

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of air heaters to increase boiler efficiency at the Belawan PLTU Unit. Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is a generator that relies on the kinetic energy of steam to produce electrical energy. In the process of producing PLTU electricity, the main equipment is boilers, turbines, generators, transformers and auxiliary equipment. PLTU as the largest share of electricity suppliers today makes it important to increase the efficiency of the plant. One way that can be done to increase the efficiency of this boiler is to add an air heater to the flue gas exhaust of the boiler. This research was conducted in Unit 3 PLTU PT. PLN (Persero) Belawan Generation Executor Unit. This study aims to: (1) to analyze the fuel in the boiler in Unit 3 PLTU Belawan, (2) to calculate the increase in efficiency in the boiler with the presence of an air heater in Unit 3 PLTU Belawan. Based on the results of the study, one way to increase boiler efficiency is to utilize the heat energy contained in the flue gas resulting from combustion to heat the air for the combustion process; Boiler capacity: 162.52 tons/hour; Thermal energy generated: 586738801.2kJ/hour; Thermal energy converts water into steam : 303750692.6 kJ/hour; Heat energy absorbed by bycatch : 2495928.36 kJ/hour; Heat absorbed LTS : 38331154.6 kJ/hour; Heat absorbed by the economizer : 19204988.4 kJ/hour; Heat absorbed by air heater: 34720467.8 kJ/hour; The efficiency of the boiler before using the air heater is 76.76% and after using the air heater the efficiency increases to 79.49%, so the increase in efficiency is about 2.73%.
