MAKNA THAGHUT DALAM QS. AL-BAQARAH 256 (ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA ROLAND BARTHES)
Abstract
Bahasa dari waktu ke waktu mengalami perkembangan makna. Begitu juga makna bahasa yang digunakan dalam al-Qur’an. al-Qur’an yang diturunkan pada abad ke-6 M di Mekkah tentu saja menggunakan bahasa yang digunakan masyarakat Jazirah Arab pada saat itu agar dapat lebih mudah dipahami bagi pendengarnya. Sebagai kitab yang shalih likulli zaman wa makan, maka al-Qur’an perlu dikaji ulang agar nilai-nilainya dapat dipahami dalam realitas saat ini. Tulisan ini akan membahas makna thaghut pada QS. al-Baqarah 256 dengan menggunkan pisau analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Dengan menggunakan analisis ini, penulis menemukan makna universal selain makna setan atau berhala sebagaimana yang sudah dikenal selama ini.
