Abstract

Psychological changes during pregnancy can cause problems, such as anxiety. Anxiety problem is related to pregnancy and childbirth. In order for this process of psychological change to run normally, a woman who is pregnant needs a sense of comfort, and one of the factors that can influence is family support. The study aims at analyzing the relationship between family support and anxiety in preoperative patients with Sectio Caesarea at RSIA Stella Maris Medan. This type of research is descriptive correlation. The study population is 209 people, namely all patients who will undergo Sectio Casarea. The samples in the study are as many as 30 people, using accidental sampling technique. Data analysis using the chi square test. The results showed that the majority of patients received family support and the majority of anxiety levels were mild, statistical test results obtained p value = 0.000 <0.05) meaning that there was a significant relationship between family support and preoperative patient anxiety. Preoperative patients who get family support, the level of anxiety will be lighter. Support from families such as giving attention, advice, support and financing needs. This will inspire patients in facing surgery and undergoing the treatment process. Families are expected to always provide attention, advice, support to family members who are facing surgery.
